William ‘Bill’ Garrison
William “Bill” Garrison, 84, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
He was born April 18, 1941, in Connoquenessing, son of the late Bruce Garrison and Freeda (Wilson) Garrison.
Bill was a graduate of Butler High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He spent many years working at Armco before retiring in 1999. Bill found simple joy in cutting grass and playing the slots.
He is survived by daughters, Joni (Kevin) Nocera, of Ohio, and Becky Kriess, of Butler; grandchildren, Tanya Nocera (Jason) Driggs, Kalsey (Brian) Swope and Kolby Kriess; great-grandchildren, Brinley, Blaine, Barrett, Eli and Arlo; brother, Harrison (Edgar) Garrison, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Garrison, whom he married Dec. 19, 1959, and who passed away May 19, 2021; great-grandson, Theo Driggs; sister, Nancy Gold; and son-in-law, Bob Kriess.
GARRISON — A visitation for William “Bill” Garrison, who died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Keith Kozic officiating.
Burial will be held at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
