Audrey Gene Ferrere

Audrey Gene Ferrere, 69, of Boyers passed away at 9:16 a.m. Friday at UPMC Northwest in Seneca, Vanango County, following a brief illness.

Born March 21, 1939, in Fowler, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Eugene and Estella Yungbluth Barker.

In Ohio, she began working at age 12 with Virgil's Auction. After graduating from high school in 1956, she was employed by Daniels' Motor Freight in accounting, moving to Halsey-Taylor as accounts payable supervisor and finally attaining many positions with U.S. Metal Brokerage.

With all her working time, she enabled herself to attend Kent State University in industrial engineering, Youngstown State for traffic management and finally graduated from Akron University as a Class B attorney.

She moved to the Boyers area following her marriage to Charles M. Ferrere on Oct. 11, 1980. He passed away Feb. 7, 1992.

She held part-time positions at the Moniteau School District, as well as serving on the school board as both member and later board president.

She also was active with the Girl Scouts of the Boyers area for 13 years.

Audrey was a member of the Fowler (Ohio) United Methodist Church most of her adult life but also was active in many local churches.

She enjoyed dining area wide, attending cultural events, caring for animals and collecting pandas and lighthouses.

In her last years, her greatest joys were her daughter, and on April 2, she welcomed her granddaughter, Arielle.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea C. Ferrere, and her granddaughter, Ariella M. Ferrere, and all her beloved pets.

<B>FERRERE</B> — Friends of Audrey Gene Ferrere, who died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and an hour before the service Tuesday at <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Main Street/Route 38, Eau Claire. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Barbara Moore, a United Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Old Annandale Cemetery, near Boyers.Information also is available at www.buzardfuneralhomes.com.
