David J. Gross
David J. Gross, 66, of 110 Saxony Trails, Saxonburg, Clinton Township, died at 3:44 a.m. Tuesday at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He had been ill for the past month.
Born May 30, 1943, in Tarentum, he was the son of Herman Gross Sr., who died in 1980, and Marie (Erl) Gross, who died in 2000.
He lived in Clinton Township for the past 38 years and previously lived in Tarentum.
Mr. Gross was a draftsman for the Hackett Steel Co., Butler, for 17 years. He was a self-employed taxidermist for 25 years.
He was a member of the Holy Sepulcher Church of Glade Mills and a former member the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Tarentum.
He belonged to the Pennsylvania Association of Taxidermists.
A 1961 graduate of Tarentum High School, he enjoyed his work and formerly enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Marcia M. (Duster) Gross; a son, Jeffrey D. Gross of Clinton Township; a daughter, Jacquelyn R. (Justin) Palmer of Jefferson Township; a granddaughter, Jamey Renee Palmer of Jefferson Township; and a brother, Earl F. (Marlene) Gross of Conneaut Lake.
Besides his parents, he was preceded death by two brothers, Herman Gross Jr. and Raymond Gross.
<B>GROSS</B> — At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation for David J. Gross, who died Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Christian funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Holy Martyrs Church, Tarentum, with the Rev. Aaron J. Kriss, pastor of Holy Martyrs Church, officiating.
