James ‘Jim’ Bury
James “Jim” Darrin Bury, 58, of Slippery Rock, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at the Butler VA Hospice.
He was born Sept. 27, 1967, in Butte, Mont., to Louis Ernest Bury Sr. and Sharon Minnie Rogers Bury.
Jim married Sandy Sue Kashlak on Feb. 11, 1994.
Jim was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served 24 years. He attended Hope Fellowship Assembly of God in Slippery Rock. He worked as an auto mechanic at Butler Tires for Less. He loved watching sports and “NCIS.” Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with family and his dog, Melek.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy, of Slippery Rock; daughter, Kayla (Nicole) Kashlak, of Clintonville, Pa.; sons, James “J.J.” Bury Jr. and Cody Bury, both of Slippery Rock; mother, Sharon Bury, of Butte; sister, Judi (Ed) O’Boyle, of Walkerville, Mont.; brother, Louis “Butch” (Laurie) Bury Jr., of Rocker, Mont.; and twin brother, Timothy Bury, of Butte; and granddaughter, Charlotte Morton, of Clintonville.
He was preceded in death by his father and sisters, Janet Bury and Caron Smith.
BURY — A memorial service for James “Jim” Darrin Bury, who died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, at Hope Fellowship Assembly of God, 411 N. Main St., Slippery Rock. The Rev. David Richendrfer will be officiating. There will be luncheon following the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
