Borland

Richard Scott Borland, 74, of Mars, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at UPMC Passavant-McCandless.

He was born May 21, 1951, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late James Roy and Margaret (Kelly) Borland.

Scott owned and operated Scott Borland Garage. He was a member of the Mars VFW Post 7505, Cranberry Elks Lodge 2249, Harley Owner Group and American Motorcyclist Association. He enjoyed spending time riding and working on motorcycles.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Kathy (Steinke) Borland, of Mars; his grandchildren, Alyssa Lorah, Colin Borland and Caleb Borland; two great-grandchildren, Paisley Rose Borland and Dawsonn James Borland; two brothers, Tom (Marsha) Borland, of Virginia, and Jack (Betsy) Borland, of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Judie Borland, of Washington; nieces, Kimmy Macon and Jackie Borland; several other nieces and nephews; and his precious dog, Maggie Mae.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James Richard Borland; a grandson, J.T. Borland; his brother, Harry James Borland; and his sister, Mary Cravenar.

BORLAND — A celebration of life will be held at a later date for Richard Scott Borland, who died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025.
