Ottis Bowser
Ottis L. Bowser, 79, of Seneca, passed away Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at his home.
He was born May 2, 1946, and was a son of the late Hulbert and Olive (Flick) Bowser.
Throughout his life, Ottis was known as a dedicated and hardworking man. He spent many years working at U.S. Steel, Quaker State and Packard Electric, where he was respected for his reliability, strong work ethic and willingness to help others. He was the former owner of Oatie’s Dairy Wheel in Clintonville. Ottis was a faithful member and Deacon of the Church of God of Prophecy. He also served many years as the caretaker to Scrubgrass Cemetery, near Emlenton.
Ottis will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and playful sense of humor, as his jokes and lighthearted spirit could brighten any room. Family meant everything to him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He rarely missed an important moment and cherished time spent with the grandchildren, camping and at their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (McKee) Bowser; two sons, Thomas Bowser and Matthew Bowser and his wife, Diane; his grandchildren, Juliet (Jason) Uhlott, Paul (Nikki) Yeany, Nicholas (Holly) Bowser, Marina Bowser and Natalie Bowser; great-grandchildren, Matthew Yeany and Adalynn Bowswer; and one great-great-grandchild, Leo. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Dawn Bowser; and his siblings, Leroy, Larry, Edward and Orville Bowser and Barbara Early.
BOWSER — Friends and family of Ottis L. Bowser, who died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, are invited to attend visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, in HILE-BEST FUNERAL HOME, 2781 Rte. 257, Seneca.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at the Fertigs Church of God of Prophecy, 113 Winwood Lane, Venus, where the funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Donald Pflugh officiating.
Private interment will be made in Scrubgrass Cemetery, at a later date.
