SLIPPERY ROCK — Curbside leaf pickup for borough residents will be from Sept. 21 to Dec. 4 this year.

To have their leaves collected, residents are to drop them in a neat pile near the side of the road, but not in the road or on the sidewalk.

Collection will be done on weekdays and also on three Saturdays: Oct. 24, Oct. 31 and Nov. 7.

GROVE CITY — Grove City College's Hopeman School of Science, Engineering and Mathematics will hold a Discovery Day open house for high school students interested in science, technology, engineering, math and exercise science from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Pew Fine Arts Center on campus.Students will meet with faculty, hear about financial aid, interact with current students and experience campus life with a walking tour and lunch in a dining hall.For information, contact the admissions office at 724-458-2100.

GROVE CITY — The second Grove City Area Foodie Fest is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday.The event will be held under a tent in the Joseph D. Monteleone Youth Festival Park, 120 S. Broad St.For the price of admission, attendees will be able to sample foods from numerous restaurants. MUDDY CREEK TWP — Moraine State Park will host “Growing Up Wild: Exploring Nature with Young Children” from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Oct. 3.The class is meant for early childhood educators of children ages 3 to 7.Advance registration is required. For information, call the park office at 724-368-8811.

SLIPPERY ROCK TWP, Lawrence County — The McConnells Mill State Park staff will host an interpretive hike on the Alpha Pass Trail at 10 a.m. Saturday.The group will meet at the Point parking area near the park entrance off Johnson Road. For information, call 724-368-8811.
