Jeffrey Olar

Olar

Jeffrey L. Olar, 68, of Clearfield Township, formerly of Curtisville, West Deer, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, with his family by his side.

He was born Feb. 27, 1957, in New Kensington, to the late William J. and Bernice June (Matulis) Olar. Jeff grew up in Curtisville, graduating from Deer Lakes High School in 1976.

Following high school, he attended the Technical Institute, achieving his associate degree in electronic repairs. Shortly after working in that field, he went to work for Duquesne Light on their tree trimming crew, working for them over 11 years. He then started his own tree business in 1990, which was Olar Tree Service, and operated that business until 2022, when he had to retire. Jeff loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, hiking, tree work and sport shooting, though he loved his family, children and grandchildren most of all.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Diane (Cortese) Olar; his sons, Christopher L. (Kelly) Olar and Alexander J. Olar, both of Clearfield Township, and Brandon T. Olar of Salisbury, Md.; his grandchildren, Christian J. and William J.; as well as his brothers, Randy A. Olar and longtime companion, Connie Hamm, Kevin (Lisa) Olar and Ronald J. “Chuch” (Susan) Olar, all of Curtisville.

Olar, who died Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, with the Rev.
