Miller

Bernard M. Miller, 89, of Prospect, died Wednesday evening at Fosnight Personal Care Home, Valencia.

He was born March 14, 1919, in Pittsburgh, the son of Michael and Mary (Haas) Miller.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He retired in the 1980s from Brayman Construction Company of Saxonburg, formerly in Gibsonia.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, repairing and restoring automobiles. He made inspections, repairs and many inventions for heavy equipment machinery.

He loved his family and grandchildren. He was well known for his knowledge of Moraine State Park and the Lake and for making friends while fishing at Davenport's, the dock and pier near the Prospect end ofLake Arthur.

He was the assistant manager at the SlipperyRock Campground, where he was honored for his many years of service. He helped to rescue the former Yogi Bear Campground by reorganizing the permanent campers and turning it into the Slippery Rock Campground.

He is survived by six children, Grace (Tom) Kelly of Moon, Bernard (Jo) Miller Jr. of Prospect, Paul (Mary) Miller of Butler, Martin (Jennifer) Miller of Portersville, Larry (Nancy) Miller of Punxsutawney, and Cindy (Fred) Schaeffer of Mars.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Genevieve Morelli and Loretta (Lee)Kline, both of Aspinwall, and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace E. Miller, who passed away on Jan. 18. 1988; three brothers and two sisters.

Raisley Funeral Home,</B> 387 Main St., Prospect.There will be visitation at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until the procession leaves for the 11 a.m. funeral service. The service will be at the Portersville Bible Church with the Rev.
