Butler Memorial Hospital is hosting its 28th annual Caring Angel fundraiser between Thursday, Dec. 4, and Dec. 11. Tickets for the basket and 50/50 raffles will be sold at the hospital’s Nixon Sarver Classroom, located just within the tower entrance.

Proceeds from the Caring Angel program support charitable medical care for children in Butler Memorial Hospital’s emergency department. According to Independence Health System, nearly $3 million has been raised throughout the life of the program.

A similar program was instituted at Butler’s sister hospital in Clarion in 2024.

For the basket raffle, at least 57 baskets have been donated with a total value of $23,000, as of Wednesday, Nov. 26. The baskets, which are donated by community members, include prizes, such as Pittsburgh Penguins and concert tickets, a chest freezer and a Roomba.

The final drawing for the winners will take place on Dec. 13. Winners will be notified by phone.
