Jack E. Baum
Jack E. Baum, 62, of Freeport passed away suddenly at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
Jack was born in New Kensington on Dec. 30, 1945, the son of the late Melvin and Rose (Richards) Baum.
He worked in the maintenance department at Oberg Industries for 37 years, retiring in 2008.
Jack was a member of the Freeport United Methodist Church, the Bethel Lodge 789 F&AM of Lower Burrell, and he was a 32nd degree mason of the Pittsburgh Consistory.
He served in the U.S. Army in France and was a member of the Freeport VFW.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandson, Andrew; bowling; and watching the Steelers, Penguins and Penn State football.
Jack is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dolores J. "Dee" (Brothers) Baum; his daughter, Kristin Baum of Johnstown; his son, Brian (Moira) Baum of San Francisco, Calif.; his grandson, Andrew Baum of San Francisco; his brother, Charles (June) Baum of South Buffalo Township; and his uncle, Oscar (Marian) Baum of Lower Burrell.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Freeport United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edd Myers officiating.
