Mary Lou Jones
Mary Lou Jones, 73, of Evans City went peacefully to be with her Lord Thursday while surrounded by her family.
Born Dec. 27, 1934, in Evans City, she was the daughter of Clifton and Oaple (Boyer) Iman.
Mrs. Jones was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Evans City where she had served as deacon, elder, and president of the Consistory. She was also a founding member of the church's Quilting-Sewing Group, belonged to the church's Mary Grace Circle, served on the Funeral Luncheon Committee, and served as a substitute church secretary.
Mrs. Jones was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Bethlehem Chapter 37, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She retired as a registered nurse from the Butler VNA in 1994. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and her flower gardens, especially the lilies.
She is survived by her husband, Carl N. Jones, who she married July 19, 1952; a son, David C. Jones and his wife, Sue Ann, of Evans City; a daughter, Marcia Ann Taylor of Cranberry Township; two sisters, Lucy Mae Senn and her husband, Walter, of Alaska and Kay Cumberledge of Zelienople; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Iman of Freedom and Shirley Iman of Renfrew; five grandchildren, Erik and Kirt Jones, Lindsey and Heather Stanton, and Kory Jones; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, C. Earl Iman and Donald R. Iman; a brother-in-law, Tom Cumberledge; and a granddaughter.
<B>JONES</B>— Friends of Mary Lou Jones, who died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City. Friends are asked to meet at the church.
