A 67-year-old Concord Township woman died Saturday, Nov. 22, in a farming accident.

Nancy J. Porter died from injuries sustained in the farming accident, according to officials. Emergency crews were dispatched to the incident at 10:23 a.m. Saturday to the 300 block of McKinney Road.

The Allegheny County coroner could not confirm her cause and manner of death Monday morning. Porter was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Allegheny County after the incident, according to the Butler County Coroner’s Office.

Crews were on the scene for 42 minutes, according to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch reports. West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department was the only fire station dispatched.

“This morning, we had a call for someone injured by a horse,” the department posted to Facebook on Saturday. “Decision was quickly made to fly them. Our thoughts are with the individual and family during this time.”

Porter was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church, the Rodfathers of Butler, which organizes car cruises and raises donation funds, and Flames and Slickers of North Washington, according to her obituary.

“Nancy had a deep connection to the farm working tirelessly tending to crops, cattle and horses and sharing her passion for farming with her family, friends and neighbors,” her obituary said.

Donations may be made to Concord Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Nov. 26, at Concord Presbyterian Church on Hooker Road.
