Kittanning man charged in sexual abuse of 2 young girls
A Kittanning man is charged with sexually assaulting two young girls between 2020 and summer 2025 in Armstrong County.
John Neal Toy Sr., 64, is accused of sexually assaulting the two girls when they were 8 and 9 years old at a residence in Manor Township and at his residence in East Franklin Township.
One girl, now 13, who reported being assaulted in 2020, said she did not come forward sooner because she was afraid, according to the affidavit. She told investigators Toy had not assaulted her in the last two years, but she came forward because she was worried the same thing may happen to the 8-year-old girl.
The 8-year-old girl told her parents on Oct. 14 that Toy had been doing the same to her over the last two to three years, according to the affidavit, with the most recent incident happening this summer.
The 8-year-old girl told police that Toy would tell the her to “keep it a secret forever” when he sexually assaulted her at his residence in East Franklin Township in the basement play area and in the girl’s bedroom, according to an affidavit.
Police said when the girl would attempt to leave the room, Toy would grab her arm and pull her back.
Police said they received a report from Armstrong County Children and Youth Services on Aug. 4 indicating Toy had assaulted the now-13-year-old girl between Nov. 1, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2020.
The 13-year-old girl told police that Toy assaulted her in 2020, and it occurred at a residence in Manor Township during sleepovers. She remembered being asleep in the same bed as Toy when he woke her up by removing her pants, according to the affidavit.
Toy was charged with four felony counts each of indecent assault and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse; three felony counts each of corruption of minors and child endangerment; two felony counts of aggravated indecent assault; and four misdemeanor counts of indecent assault on Oct. 15 in relation to what happened recently to one girl.
And on Monday, Nov. 17, he was charged with three felony counts of indecent assault; two felony counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated indecent assault; one felony count each of corruption of minors and child endangerment; and two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault in relation to what happened in 2020 to the other girl.
Toy’s preliminary hearings are scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, before District Judge Kenneth Bussard.
