A crash that led to a car rolling onto its side temporarily closed Route 422 east around 2 p.m. Monday afternoon, Nov. 17.

Dispatchers received reports around 2:05 p.m. of a multivehicle accident involving a semitruck just past 1172 New Castle Road in Prospect. A woman in her 20s and her 1-year-old child were inside the car turned onto its side.

The crash occurred near Route 422’s Prospect Road exit, partially underneath a bridge overpass. Police had to close the Route 422 eastbound between the off- and on-ramps of the exit, rerouting traffic off the road briefly.

Butler County 911 said EMS crews were able to get the woman and child out of the car without needing to perform an extraction.

The road was reopened by about 3 p.m.

Prospect Borough and Portersville fire departments, Butler Ambulance Service and state police responded to the crash.
