Pennsylvania American Water has announced it will start eight water main replacement projects throughout November in Butler Township and the City of Butler.

According to a release, the company will look to invest more than $2.1 million to replace around 1.3 miles of water main.

The city will see work on North McKean Street from Lumar Village to 811 N. McKean St.; West Pearl Street from Bredin Street to North Washington Street; Delta Way from Fairview Avenue to Brown Avenue; and Glenn Avenue from Center Avenue to Brown Avenue.

In the township, work will occur on McCandless Avenue from Boyd Drive to 107 McCandless Ave.; Steelton Avenue from Mellon Street to Weir Avenue; Semanco Avenue from Kohler Avenue to 118 Semanco Ave.; and Sawmill Run Road from England Street to South Eberhart Road.

The work on Sawmill Run Road in Butler Township and West Pearl Street in Butler is being coordinated with wastewater main replacements, which the release attributed to Pennsylvania American’s purchase of Butler Area Sewer Authority.

Crews will work between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays with traffic restrictions in place during construction. Restorations are expected to be completed in the spring and summer of 2026.
