With winter quickly approaching and some snow in the forecast for parts of Western Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is reminding motorists to be careful on the roads this winter.
Some important driver safety tips for winter weather include: turn on low beams even during the day to make yourself more visible to motorists, turn off cruise control on snowy or icy roads; cut your driving speed in half on packed snow, clear your vehicle of snow and ice before you begin your journey, keep a windshield brush/scraper inside your car and stay home unless you absolutely have to travel.
