Edward Dufford

Dufford

Edward Dufford, 90, of Leechburg, formerly of Sarver, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, at his home.

Born July 21, 1935, in Sarver, he was the son of John Dufford and Margaret O'Donnell Dufford.

Ed was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed hunting for grouse and pheasant with his Brittany spaniels and also whitetail deer. His favorite fishing was for walleye locally and in Canada with his children and grandchildren. He was a competitive rifle shooter in the Allegheny Valley Rifle League. At times he lead the league in the standing (offhand) shooting position.

He was a Butler County deputy game warden for 15 years. He retired from PPG Industries as a company chemist after 31 years. He was an animal lover of all types, domesticated and wild. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force stationed at the Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. He served as an electrical technician assigned to the B-52 Bomber.

Surviving are his children, Kevin (Nicole) Dufford, of Karns City, Lynne (Byron) Maloney, of Allison Park, and Ed Dufford Jr., of Cabot; his sister, Carolyn Fennell, of Sarver; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Miranda, Alex and Dale; and three great-grandchildren, Dakota, Tyler and Gracie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Anne Behning Dufford; one son, John Dufford; one daughter, Karen Dufford; his sister, Dorothy Grzywinski; and two brothers, Donald Dufford and Jack Dufford.

DUFFORD — Friends of Edward Dufford, who died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
