Kenneth E. Rhodes Jr., 83, of Cabot, formerly of Butler, passed away Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at Embassy of Saxonburg with his loving family at his side.

Born Nov. 10, 1941, in Masontown, Pa., he was a son of the late Kenneth E. Rhodes, Sr. and Anna Bulazo Rhodes.

Ken graduated with a Master of Education at Duquesne University. He served as a teacher for over 20 years at Knoch High School, where he also coached the basketball team. Teaching and coaching were passions of his.

Ken was a devout follower of the Catholic Church and was a member of All Saints Parish in Butler. He was also a member of the Secular Order of Franciscans.

Ken was an avid fan of all Pittsburgh professional sports teams, but had a special place in his heart for basketball and the Duquesne University Dukes.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Kalmeyer Rhodes, whom he married Nov. 7, 1969; three children, Lori L. Beggs, of Butler, Kenneth W. Rhodes, of Allison Park, and Rebecca L. Rawlings and her husband, David, of Zelienople; two sisters, Patricia A. Sowinski and her husband, Thomas, of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Eleanor King, of Mesa, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Sarah Beggs and Emma Rawlings; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Rhodes and Edwin Rhodes.

RHODES — Friends and family of Kenneth E. Rhodes Jr., who died Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 11 a.m. at the church with the Rev. John Ferguson officiating.

Private burial will take place in Mount Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Kenneth E Rhodes, Jr. may be made to Butler Catholic School, 515 E. Locust St., Butler, PA 16001.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of MARTIN FUNERAL HOME Downtown, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
