Carl Powell

Powell

Carl Powell, 82, of Renfrew, passed away Monday, Oct. 20, 2025.

Born June 4, 1943, in Penn Township, he was the son of the late Charles and Mabel (Hartzell) Powell.

Carl enjoyed working, especially digging in the dirt. This is where he felt most at home. Dedicated and hardworking he was employed at Forward Township operating the heavy equipment for over 30 years. As a lifelong resident of Forward Township, he served on the planning commission. After hours, he dug many basements, septic systems and driveways for his neighbors. In his earlier years, he delivered milk and drove the tank truck for Marburger Farm Dairy. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 59 years, Grace (Beahm) Powell; his children, Ann (Kenneth) Killby, Matthew (Eve) Powell, Lorraine (Steve) Brock and Mark (Melissa) Powell; his 13 grandchildren; his brothers, James (the late Arletta) Powell and George (the late Gail) Powell; and his sister, Mary Ellen (Erroll) Dotson.

In addition to his parents and sisters-in-law, Carl was preceded by his sister, Alberta Powell.
