Lillian T. Gibson
Lillian T. Gibson of 262 N.Duffy Road in Butler Township, died Thursday at her home.
She was born on July 29, 1929, a daughter of Benjamin F. and Anna I. King Olson.
Mrs. Gibson worked as a private secretary for the Boy Scouts of America Moraine Trails Council. She also worked at the Butler Intermediate High School and then for Arthur's Gift Shop.
She was a former member of the Bethany United Church of Christ, where she was very active, serving as a deaconess and elder. She also taught Sunday School.
Mrs. Gibson was a 1948 graduate of Butler Senior High School.
She is survived by her husband, John D. Gibson Sr., whom she married on Sept. 8, 1952; two daughters, Anita Dean and her husband, Alfred, of Tucson, Ariz., and Cathy Martin and her husband, Leslie, of Butler; three sons, John D. Gibson Jr. and his wife, Sheri, William R. Gibson and his wife, Barbara, and Thomas V. Gibson, all of Butler; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two nephews and one great-nephew; a brother, Ronald B. Olson and his wife, Darlene, of Butler; and two cousins, Mrs. Marian Christy and Anna Mae Webb and her husband, Eugene, all of Butler.
<B>GIBSON —</B> Friends of Lillian T. Gibson, who died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, </B>124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. J. David Panther, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
