Harry ‘Skip’ Fleischer III

Harry Nelson “Skip” Fleischer III, 85, of Saxonburg, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, at Quality Life Services — Chicora.

Born Aug. 3, 1940, in Butler, he was a son of the late Harry Nelson Fleischer Jr. and Harriet Bowser Fleischer.

A 1959 graduate of Butler High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Skip was the co-owner/operator of Cabot Auto Body. After retiring from the auto body shop, he worked as a claims adjuster for State Farm Insurance for 16 years.

A former Saxonburg council member, he also served on the Saxonburg Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board and the Saxonburg Water Authority.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Freeport. He belonged to the Saxonburg Historical and Restoration Commission and the Freeport Kiwanis.

Skip loved woodworking, and he was a model train and CB radio enthusiast. He was known for the railroad caboose that he rebuilt and displayed in his side yard.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Pamela S. Schroth Fleischer, whom he married March 8, 1963; three daughters, Tammy Mowry and her husband, Carl, of Butler, Renee Slupe and her husband, Carl, of Butler, and Leslie Kulbacki and her husband, Lenny, of Allison Park; two sisters, Carol Bowman, of Butler, and Fay Rafferty and her husband, Tom, of Haverhill, Mass.; and one brother, Russell Fleischer and his wife, Terry, of Butler.

He is also survived by five grandchildren, Brandon (Tori) Mowry, Kailyn (Ryan) Trimble, Laura (James) Griffith, Joshua (Karen) Buchholz and Cory (Amelia) Buchholz; and six great-grandchildren, Evan Mowry, Caleb Trimble, Dominic Trimble, Coby Thompson, Logan Compton and Lauren Buchholz.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

FLEISCHER — There was no visitation, and funeral services were private for Harry Nelson “Skip” Fleischer III, who died Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025.

Arrangements were under the direction of FOX FUNERAL HOME, Saxonburg.
