Darla Ann Brydon McPaul, 88, of Sunbury Road, West Sunbury, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Slippery Rock on Sept. 22, 1937, to Thomas Wilson Brydon and Helen Virginia Griffith Brydon.

She married Richard J. McPaul on May 13, 1983, and he survives at the residence.

Darla graduated from Slippery Rock High School and Slippery Rock University, being certified in elementary education. She had worked at SRU in administrative services and had previously worked in substitute teaching. Darla enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, playing the piano and gardening.

Survivors include husband, Richard; four daughters, Lynne A. (Andrew) Schaubert, Kathrynn L. (Dennis) Hogg, April Y. Martin and Jeanne (Kevin Donnenwirth) Martin, all of Slippery Rock; son, David R. (Alicia) Simmons, of West Sunbury; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Robert and Donn.

MCPAUL — Family of Darla Ann Brydon McPaul, who died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Pastor Jim Lewis will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Co. & Rescue Team, 162 Elm St., Slippery Rock, PA.
