Josephine Bonomo
Josephine A. “Jo” Bonomo, 100, of Zelienople, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at the Lutheran Senior Life Passavant Community.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1924, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John and Anna Bianco. Jo was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Jo was committed to her family, her faith and her community. She was an engaged member of St. Gregory Catholic Church in Zelienople for decades. She participated in the Altar Society. She and her late husband were actively involved in the Zelienople Community Park Association, working to make annual Fourth of July celebrations special for the whole community. She also worked tirelessly to make St. Gregory’s annual lawn fete a success.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Bonomo, whom she married in 1947, at Holy Innocents Church, Pittsburgh; by her son, David J. Bonomo; and by her granddaughter, Anna Marie Bonomo. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are her two sons, John M. Bonomo (Eileen), of Zelienople, and James M. Bonomo (Mary Beth), of Sewickley; and her daughter, Celeste Brunner (Michael), of Ellwood City; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
BONOMO — A Mass of Christian burial for Josephine A. “Jo” Bonomo, who died Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13, at Divine Grace Parish, St. Gregory Catholic Church, 2 W. Beaver St., Zelienople. Everyone please meet at the church for Mass.
Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the Zelienople Community Park Association, P.O. Box 402, Zelienople, PA 16063.
Arrangements have been entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
