Dean L. Bollinger, 85, of 2426 West Sunbury Road, Boyers, died at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grove City Medical Center.

A son of Harry Edward and Cora Etta Rihel Bollinger, he was born in Boyers Feb. 26, 1923.

He was a graduate of Grove City High School. He then completed aviation mechanic training in Punxsutawney.

A veteran of World War II, Mr. Bollinger served with the U.S. Navy. Proud of his service to his country, he continued as a member of the American Legion, the Moniteau Ceremonial Squad and as a charter member of the World War II Museum.He began his working career with Fairchild Aircraft in Hagerstown, Md., and later was a tool grinder at Cooper Industry, retiring in March 1985.Mr. Bollinger was a member of the Boyers United Methodist Church and the Grove City Masonic Lodge 603.On June 21, 1944, he married the former Opal L. Lynch. She survives along with two daughters, Sherry Hixson and her husband, Rick, of Beech Creek and Lisa Mueller and her husband, Rick, of Erie; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

<B>BOLLINGER </B>— Friends of Dean L. Bollinger, who died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, Harrisville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kathleen Soltis, pastor of the Boyers United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Cemetery.The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Boyers United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 124, Boyers PA 16020.
