Ronald Lee Paynter, 70, of Middle Trail, Butler, died at 5:50 a.m. Wednesday at his home.

Born Oct. 2, 1938, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was the son of the late Raymond F. Paynter and Amy V. Noland Paynter.

Mr. Paynter retired from AT&T in 1998 after 35 years.

He was a member of the Discovery Christian Church in Cranberry Township.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Paynter is survived by his wife, Debra S. Alkire Paynter, who he married Nov. 23, 1996; two daughters, Roxanne Runco and her husband, Timothy, of Pittsburgh and Leanne Paynter of Sebring, Fla.; one stepson, Timothy D. Taylor and his wife, Joanna, of Woodbridge, Va.; four grandchildren, Jayme Paynter of Boston, Sydney Crumley of Sebring, Elliana and Ethan Taylor, both of Woodbridge; four brothers, Franklin R. Paynter and his wife, Donna, of Youngstown, Ohio, James A. Paynter and his wife, Diana, of Greenboro, Ga., John E. Paynter and his wife, Sherri, of Elkton, Ohio, and Larry R. Paynter and his wife, Lisa, of Wellsville, Ohio; two sisters, Linda Davis and her husband, Larry, of East Liverpool, Ohio, and Janet Factura and her husband, Gerry, of Goose Creek, S.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

<B>PAYNTER </B>— Friends of Ronald Lee Paynter, who died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the North Main Street Church of God, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
