The Butler’s Mac.Bid will stay open with adjusted hours, according to the business’s chief operating officer in a Friday, Sept. 5, conversation.

The interview that indicates the Greater Butler Mart location will remain open comes after an employee at the store said Thursday that the location was closing and a customer service email, dated Sept. 4, acquired by the Butler Eagle showed the location would close.

“The Butler facility will remain open and available for all customers to continue to pickup product from all the existing auctions in the Pittsburgh District facilities, including Butler,” said Eric Ravotti, the chief operating officer.

Ravotti said the location’s hours of operation had merely changed to noon to 6 p.m. from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The message from Ravotti comes after a Thursday email sent to a Butler County customer showed the location at 360 Greater Butler Mart was to close.

The customer asked about the store’s status in a Sept. 3 email, and a response from customer service replied, saying the location would close.

Mac.Bid is an auction app and discount store chain that buys and resells overstocked products from other stores.

In the emails, Mac.Bid’s customer service said it would not provide an official reason for why it was closing its Butler Township location. It also said it did not have an official closing date.

However, a Butler Mac.Bid employee said on Thursday that Sept. 12 would be the location’s last day open.

Mac.Bid also owns Yinz Binz, which opened in 2024, also located at Greater Butler Mart. Mac.Bid’s customer service via the Thursday email said Yinz Binz will remain open.

Mac.Bid has other warehouse locations in Beaver Falls, Pittsburgh Mills, Monroeville and Robinson.
