Joe Rapp, defending District 9 golf champion, takes first Mega Match of 2026: Roundup

A-C Valley/Union golfer Joe Rapp, the defending District 9 Class 2A champion, began the 2026 season in style on Monday, carding an even-par 36 to place first in the initial KSAC boys golf Mega Match of the year at Slippery Rock Golf Club.

Rapp finished one stroke ahead of Karns City’s Liam Hobaugh (37).

Moniteau was paced by Jake Long’s 39.

Keystone ran away with first place as a team with 155 strokes, 14 better than Moniteau.

A-C Valley/Union was third (178) and Karns City fifth (182).

Pine-Richland 191, Knoch 220 — At Saxon Golf Course, the Rams featured five sub-40 scores, led by Gabe Gand’s 37.

Knoch’s best score of 40 came from Thad Fuller.

Seneca Valley 187, North Hills 229 — A trio of Raiders, including Bradley Steiner, Lucas Barber and Josh Marquardt each came in with a 37 at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course to help the Raiders dominate the Indians.

Also scoring for SV were Jacob Wallace and Will Pefferman with a pair of 38s.

Girls golf

Moniteau won its second KSAC Mega Match in as many tries, this time edging Brookville 174-175 at Pinecrest Country Club.

The Warriors’ scorers included Gabby Shearer (55), Cailyn O’Brien (58) and Randi Carr (61).

A-C Valley’s Kennedy Kinney carded a 50 to finish runner-up individually.

Brookville’s Sami Neil placed first with a 39.
