Vienna Fay Steving
Vienna Fay Steving, 95, of Grove City passed away Tuesday after a short stay in Butler Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Pitcairn, Pa., to John and Florence Robinson.
Vienna received her nickname “Bobbie” while serving as a nurse in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
She continued her nursing career after marrying James “Pat” Steving in 1948, a career that included working as an operating room nurse, school nurse and industrial nurse at U.S. Steel.
She resided in Monroeville until her retirement and then wintered in Bradenton, Fla., with homes in Slippery Rock Campground and Grove City.
Bobbie was an avid rose gardener, loved to play card games, travel with friends and enjoyed life on her daughter's alpaca farm in Grove City.
She is survived by a son, Larry Steving; her daughter, Fay Steving; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lindsay; a sister, Elizabeth Rappaport; and several nieces and nephews.
STEVING — A remembrance reception for Vienna Fay Steving, who died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Grove Manor Personal Care Home, 435 North Broad St., Grove City.
