Ohio man charged in naked fracas at drive-in

An Ohio man is accused of taking off his clothes and causing a weekend commotion at the Starlight Drive-in on Route 8 in Center Township, authorities said.

Ronald E. Sito II, 28, of Madison also allegedly assaulted and injured three security guards who tried to restrain him. The suspect later allegedly resisted efforts by state police to arrest him.

Sito subsequently was taken into custody and charged with three counts of simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, open lewdness, public drunkenness and three counts of harassment.

Police said they were called around 9:15 p.m. Sunday to the drive-in theater for a report of a naked man fighting with security guards.

A concert was being held at the business that night, Trooper Nicholas Dahlstrom, the investigating officer, said Wednesday. Sito was attending the concert with at least one other person.

Another customer told police that the defendant at some point “got naked and started screaming,” according to charging documents. The witness said he notified security staff. When staff advised him to leave, Sito allegedly became angry and started “punching everyone.”

Police identified three guards who were injured. The injuries were described as cuts and red marks on their faces or arms and legs. A Butler Ambulance Service crew treated the victims at the scene.

One of the guards, an Ohio man in his 70s, later sought treatment at a hospital in Ohio, and was reportedly diagnosed with a broken humerus, Dahlstrom said. The man apparently suffered the injury when he fell to the ground after being punched.

Three state police officers who first responded to the incident tried to restrain Sito, but he allegedly resisted and refused to obey their commands.

The defendant, documents said, was nude and yelling, “get off me,” and “I am God.” Dahlstrom said it appeared Sito was under the influence of drugs.

He was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for apparent minor injuries in the incident. He was arraigned on charges Monday and released on his own recognizance.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 22. Online court records did not indicate if he has an attorney, and he could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
