National study gives West Penn Power high score
West Penn Power was recently recognized by Escalent, a leading utility research firm, as a Utility Residential Customer Champion for its success engaging with residential customers.
The subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. scored among the top electric and natural gas utilities nationwide in Escalent’s residential study based on interviews of 67,000 customers of 140 utilities across the country.
“We continuously work to build trust through enhanced electric service reliability, new technologies and a commitment to meet our customers’ ever-changing energy needs and expectations,” said John Rea, regional president of West Penn Power.
Customers can follow the company on social media for news, energy efficiency and electrical safety tips as well as updates during major weather events.
To reduce the number and duration of outages experienced by customers, West Penn Power embarked on a five-year, $147 million plan to make additional improvements, and completed an ambitious, multiyear installation of digital smart meters in 2019.
