Lifesteps to offer free developmental screenings

Lifesteps, a social services nonprofit operating across Western Pennsylvania, will offer free developmental and autism screenings for children up to age 5.

The program, Lifesteps Child Check, will be offered in Butler, Armstrong, Beaver, Indiana and Lawrence counties. The program in Butler County is supported by the United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Child Check uses a 30-minute screening process that uses games and activities to determine a child’s level of development. Then, parents are provided with knowledge on their child’s state of development and guided to resources if necessary.

Appointments for in-person or online screenings are required. Those interested in learning more about the program or scheduling an appointment can visit lifesteps.net/services/child-check/ or call at 724-283-1010 or 1-800-225-2010.
