Police reports

The following items were collected from various police departments and district courts:

Cranberry Twp

Aug. 4 — Kurt Alfred Effenberger, 54, of Jefferson, was charged with misdemeanor DUI following an Aug. 2 crash. Police said Effenberger showed signs of impairment.

Aug. 5 — Derek Raymond Weidner, 19, of Beaver Falls, was charged with three misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct following a May 31 incident. Police said Weidner screamed obscene language and racial insults, threatened to assault officers and failed to comply with police commands.

Aug. 5 — Desmond Savon Wilson, 23, of Pittsburgh, was charged with misdemeanor retail theft following a July 12 incident. Police said Wilson attempted to steal $248.96 in merchandise from Walmart.

Aug. 5 — Daniel J. Mazzant, 63, of Ellwood City, was charged with misdemeanor accident involving damage following a July 28 crash. Police said Mazzant hit another vehicle and left the scene.

State police, Butler

July 28 — Police responded to a single-vehicle crash around 9 a.m. on McCandless Road in Slippery Rock Township. Police said a Tri-County Industries truck struck low-hanging wires across the road.

Aug. 4 — Christopher Mich Miller, 38, of Butler, was charged with felony transfer of firearm and misdemeanor statement under penalty following a Nov. 15, 2024, incident in Clearfield Township. Police said Miller falsified information on a firearms application.

Aug. 4 — Jamie A. Lightner, 51, of Ford City, was charged with three misdemeanor DUI counts and one misdemeanor count each of marijuana possession and drug paraphernalia possession following a June 26 traffic stop in Butler. Police said Lightner tested positive for methamphetamine and marijuana and had a plastic bag of suspected marijuana, a metal smoking device and rolling papers.

Aug. 4 — Tina M. Daniels, 45, of Butler, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of obstruction, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct following a July 31 traffic stop in Butler. Police said Daniels failed to comply with police commands, screamed at officers and attempted to pull her hands free while being handcuffed.

Aug. 4 — Joshua Lee Osborne, 52, of Evans City, was charged with misdemeanor indecent exposure following a July 24 incident in Callery. Police said Osborne was on the side of the road wearing only a shirt.

Aug. 6 — Mark Kohnen, 53, of Butler, was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor disorderly conduct following an Aug. 5 incident at Butler Memorial Hospital. Police said Kohnen spit in a nurse’s face.
