Mary M. Jombock
Mary M. Jombock, 77, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Lower Burrell, died at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday at Ashbury Heights Health Center, Mt. Lebanon.
Born March 29, 1927, in Arcola, Ill., she was the daughter of Beecham and Dora Hemingway Maxwell.
She lived in Slippery Rock for the past nine years, and previously, she lived in Lower Burrell for 41 years.
Mrs. Jombock had been a secretary at General Electric in New Kensington.
She was a member of the New Kensington and Allegheny Valley YMCAs. She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, baking and reading and was an avid follower of politics. She was a volunteer for Meals-on-Wheels and for various children's activities.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, John Jombock; three daughters, Linda (J.C.) Morrow and Kathryn (Timothy) Murin, both of Upper St. Clair, and Carol (Joseph) Gigler of Charlotte, N.C.; and two sisters, Eleanor Trimble of Hindsboro, Ill., and Frances Cordts of Mattoon, Ill. She also is survived by eight grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Morrow, Carolyn, Marissa and Cullen Murin and Mary, Margaret and Kathryn Gigler.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Maxwell; and two sisters, Louise Worthington and Rosie McCoin.
JOMBOCK - Friends of Mary J. Jombock, who died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today atFRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Foust officiating.
