Man accused of making threats
ZELIENOPLE — A Forward Township man was arrested Monday by state police after allegedly saying he was going to kill his wife and kidnap their daughter.
Raymond Burr, 51, was charged with misdemeanor terroristic threats, misdemeanor simple assault and harassment. He is free on $5,000 bail.
Monday morning Brenda Burr called the police to report that her husband pushed and shoved her and threw hot coffee on her, according to court records.
She told police he was angry after learning that she had withdrawn money from their joint checking account.
That morning Burr drove to Citizen’s Bank in Zelienople with his 2-year-old daughter where he attempted to withdraw money. After learning the account was empty, bank employees allegedly heard him say he was going to beat or kill his wife.
Later that morning, Brenda Burr called police again to report he told her she would never see her daughter again if she did not transfer money back into their account.
State police issued an alert for Burr and he was arrested a couple hours later and arraigned.
His preliminary hearing is March 29.
