Jennifer Giovengo

Jennifer (Oakes) Giovengo, 54, of Valencia died Tuesday in the comfort of her home.

Born Oct. 28, 1953, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Dorothy Olsavsky of Turtle Creek and the late Raymond Oakes.

Jennifer was a loving and devoted mother of three children, who always came first in her life.

She worked for Giant Eagle for more than 18 years, mostly in the pharmacy of the Gibsonia store.

She was a volunteer with the Montessori School and a former president of the Pittsburgh chapter of La Leche League. She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking and yoga. Jennifer loved to travel, especially within the last 10 years, visiting numerous places both across the United States and abroad, including Peru, Brazil, Alaska and Paris.

She was the loving mother of Leah C. (Benjamin) Northrop of Squirrel Hill, Susan N. Giovengo of Aspinwall and Benjamin C. Giovengo of Valencia; beloved fiancée of David Mahaffey of Sewickley; sister of Donna (Ronald) Youngkers of Turtle Creek and the late Charles Robinson; and dear grandmother of Wyatt Northrop of Squirrel Hill. Also surviving is her first husband, Dale Giovengo, of Allison Park.

<B>GIOVENGO</B> — The family of Jennifer (Oakes) Giovengo, who died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2008, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.The family suggests donations be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, Pittsburgh Chapter, 6507 Wilkins Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15217.Please pay tribute at www.schellhaasfh.com.
