SV, NexTier extend stadium agreement

10-year deal worth total of $100,000

JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley School District’s athletic stadium will remain NexTier Stadium for another decade.

On Tuesday, the bank and school district announced they reached an agreement extending the partnership that was formed 10 years ago.

The new agreement will run from July to the end of the 2025-26 school year. The bank will pay $10,000 each year, a total of $100,000, according to a news release.

The school board will vote Monday to make the agreement official.

The sponsorship amount doubled from the previous agreement. The bank has been paying $5,000 per year for $50,000 total.

“This will be 20 years that NexTier has been linked to the Seneca Valley School District, and we very much appreciate their community partnership,” school board President Eric DiTullio said at the board’s meeting Monday.

NexTier Bank is proud to have its name on the stadium, said Maria Smathers, chief marketing officer at NexTier in the release.

“The administration at Seneca Valley has shown the same passion and commitment to their students, which makes this a terrific partnership — one that has spanned generations and we hope will continue for many years to come,” she said.

The former Raiders Stadium was renamed NexTier Stadium before the 2006 fall sports season.

The naming rights money goes to a fund for the stadium.

Earlier this year, the school board approved stadium improvements estimated to cost $2 million. That will expand bleacher seating and add more handicap-accessible seating.

The district also will replace the turf surface on the football field and replace the track surface.
