The Pittsburgh Penguins made a move at the start of NHL free agency, shipping goalie Alex Nedeljkovic to the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a 2028 third-round pick.
The move currently leaves just Tristan Jarry on the roster,
The 29-year-old joined the Penguins in 2023 and started 68 games the last two years, posting an .894 save percentage last year while going 14-15-5. But he hasn’t been able to consistently perform up to his impressive rookie season in 2020-21, when he allowed 1.90 goals against per game and had a .932 save percentage with Carolina.
Pittsburgh now has 28 draft picks the next three years, including two extra in 28.
