Butler woman charged after infant reportedly tests positive for fentanyl
A Butler woman was charged after an infant in her care tested positive for fentanyl in Clay Township, police said.
Christine Ann Sanderson, 52, was charged with felony child endangerment and one misdemeanor count each of reckless endangerment and simple assault following a Saturday, June 28, incident.
Police said they were dispatched to Butler Memorial Hospital for an infant who was possibly exposed to heroin.
Police spoke with the child’s mother who said while under another adult’s care, the infant got into a trash container and possibly came into contact with a baggie of heroin. Hospital staff later confirmed the infant tested positive for fentanyl.
Sanderson’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Lewis Stoughton is yet to be scheduled.
