SUMMIT TWP — Township supervisors are exploring a new avenue of funding for their municipal garage.

Township secretary Roxann Stickney informed the supervisors Wednesday, June 18, that the state local services grant had been reopened for the year. She reminded them that through last year’s application, they were able to acquire a skid loader.

Supervisors agreed that the best usage of the grant’s funds would be for the municipal garage. They voted 2-0 to apply for $1 million in funding, the maximum amount the grant provides.

No match is required from the township for the grant. The grant officially begins to take applications in September.
