Fines given in case of shots fired
A Petrolia man was sentenced to fines after being charged with shooting a gun into a television and wall during an argument in September.
Robert M. Myers Sr., 50, was sentenced to pay court costs and a $200 fine by Butler County Judge William Shaffer.
Myers previously pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct April 4 after the incident on Sept. 24 at a home on Jamison Street in Petrolia. That charge was dismissed as part of the plea agreement.
State police said Myers took his girlfriend's son's phone and Xbox 360 outside and fired a .45-caliber pistol at the items during an argument, before going back inside and firing two more rounds into a television in the son's bedroom.
His girlfriend was standing in the bedroom doorway near the TV, police said. One of the rounds, police noted, passed through the outside wall of the home and onto the street.
No injuries were reported.
