Pa. Senators applaud Progress on Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act
On Tuesday, the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry passed the Whole Milk For Healthy Kids Act.
Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., who sits on the committee, supported the measure.
“I’m proud to support the Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, as amended, to allow whole milk back in schools and include necessary flexibilities for nondairy alternatives,” Fetterman said in a news release.
Fetterman, cosponsored the bill alongside Sen. Dave McCormick, R-Pa.
“Our incredible dairy industry is the backbone of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,” McCormick said in the release. “I’m proud to join Sen. Fetterman and our colleagues to support this common sense bill that is a clear win for our hardworking dairy farmers and the well-being of our children.”
