Scouts hold annual dinner
CRANBERRY TWP — Cathy Glasgow and McClymonds Supply & Transit were honored Thursday night by the Moraine Trails Council of the Boy Scouts of America.
Glasgow received the 2015 Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award and McClymonds received the 2015 Distinguished Company of the Year Award. Company owner Mark McClymonds accepted the award for the company.
A dinner and ceremony was held for them at the Pittsburgh Marriott North at Cranberry Woods. About 170 people attended, and the dinner raised $70,000 to support scout camp facilities and locations.
Glasgow is the owner and president of Butler County Ford, which was founded by her grandfather in 1926. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Butler, a past chairman of Butler Downtown and a member of the Butler County Chamber of Commerce.
She is a board member of the Greater Pittsburgh Auto Dealers Association and a board member of VNA of Western Pennsylvania. She also is a supporter of the Butler County Humane Society.
McClymonds of Portersville was founded in 1945 by George R. McClymonds, who retired in 1983 and sold the company to his son, Mark. The company owns 450 trucks and leases about 100 trucks and their owner-operators. It employs 550 people and serves 600 to 700 customers per week, 90 percent of which stay within 150 miles of Western Pennsylvania.
The winners are selected by previous winners based on community contributions.
