Vietnam veteran benefits expand
The federal Department of Veterans Affairs on Tuesday extended Agent Orange benefits to more people who served during the Vietnam War.
Illnesses now included in the benefits package are B cell leukemias, such as hairy cell leukemia; Parkinson’s disease; and ischemic heart disease.
Agent Orange was used in Vietnam to defoliate trees and expose enemy troops.
Any Butler County veteran who is eligible for the benefits should contact the county veterans services office at 724-284-5352.
