More than 70 recruits graduated Friday from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy at LCBC Manheim.
Six of the 74 newly graduated troopers will be added to Troop D, which covers Butler, Beaver, Armstrong, Mercer and Lawrence counties. The troopers coming to Troop D are Alexander M. Kitko, Daniel J. Loeffler, Charles N. Martin, Tyler J. Parisi, Owen G. Sidun and Jacob R. Stutz.
The cadet class is the second to earn the position of trooper without a college credit requirement. State police have seen a significant increase in cadet applications since the college credit requirement was waived in August 2023, according to a news release. The release said the academy received 1,629 applications this cycle.
