Butler Township water tower to receive rehabilitative care
This summer, Pennsylvania American Water plans to repaint and rehabilitate a water tower located off Clayton Avenue in the Homeacre area of Butler Township.
According to a news release, the tower is one of seven tanks scheduled for rehabilitation this summer as part of the 2025 tank infrastructure investment plan. Pennsylvania American Water estimates $630,000 will be spent on the 250,000-gallon capacity tower.
Lauren Camarda, manager of external affairs for Pennsylvania American Water, said Clearcreek Coatings, the contractor for the project, will perform abrasive blasting and paint the interior and exterior of the tank. Structural support will also be evaluated and rehabilitated.
Weather permitting, work is expected to be completed by the end of July, Camarda said.
