Armco Credit awards scholarships to county high schoolers
Armco Credit Union awarded $26,000 in scholarships to 28 local high school seniors as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to support education and invest in youth.
Twenty students received $1,000, and, in honor of Armco’s 90th anniversary, the program was expanded this year to award an additional eight students $750 each, according to a news release from the company. Students were selected based on academic, leadership and extracurricular achievement. Armco has awarded more than $150,000 in scholarships over the past eight years.
The following Butler County high school students received scholarships:
Allegheny-Clarion Valley High School: Cora Weigle
Butler Senior High School: Brock Collins, Jessica Cornell, Addison Gatz, Ava Hindman, Alexis Huselton, Grace Persichini, Jordyn Slater, Elliette Smith, Paige Snyder
Freeport Area Senior High School: Rachel Hartman, Emma Michelini
Karns City Area Jr./Sr. High School: Amy Bellis, Rylee Miller, Liam Rodgers, Natalie Turner
Moniteau High School: Morgan Teets
North Catholic High School: Mary Maloney
Seneca Valley Senior High School: Sydney Brower
Slippery Rock Area High School: Emma Green, Emma Zorn
Home school: Ryan Eckert, Sophia Zang
