Man arrested in luring case
A Butler man was arrested Friday on charges he attempted to lure two girls into his car Tuesday night.
According to Butler police, James D. D’Antonio, 70, stopped his Cadillac in the 500 block of West Jefferson Street at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday and attempted to lure an 18-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl into his car.
A police report stated that when the girls, who had been walking on the sidewalk, declined, the man followed them in his car.
The investigation led police to arrest D’Antonio about 1 p.m. Friday. He is charged with encouraging prostitution, unlawful contact with a minor, attempting to lure a child into a motor vehicle, corruption of minors and harassment.
D’Antonio, who pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment in a 2007 case, is free on $10,000 bail.
