A building located just off Great Belt Road in Jefferson Township was damaged in a fire early Friday morning, May 16.

Four departments responded around 5:15 a.m. for a structure fire on Chick Lane, according to Butler County Emergency Services dispatch reports.

Crews were on scene for just over an hour and a half controlling the blaze.

A West Penn Power employee on scene said the flames reached high enough to singe a low-hanging power line near the building.

Responding fire companies included Saxonburg, Herman, East Butler and Buffalo Township volunteer fire companies.
