CENTER TWP — A memorial rock has been placed at the Butler County Soccer Association’s fields in memory of Aiden Lutz, who died in 2023 at age 15 after being hit by a car while he was riding his bike. Members of the association, which Aiden was part of, dedicated the rock last week.

Aiden’s family attended a private dedication on the weekend of May 3 at the fields where he played soccer for many years.

“Dedicated, loyal and fierce soccer player, team supporter and most importantly friend,” is inscribed on the rock, which was purchased by the association.

In addition to soccer, Lutz was a member of the Butler High School cross country and track and field teams and was a Boy Scout in Troop 6. A sophomore in high school, he was in the automotive technology program at Butler County Vocational-Technical School.

The rock sits in a garden that contains memorials to other association players and leaders who have died.
